Samsung has boosted the size of its computer line with the recent unveiling of its new Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 machines. The notebooks, which will be available starting in April, will be powered by Intel Core processors and Nvidia GeForce graphics processors. Out of the box, Samsung’s Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 might be best-suited for home computer users. But with a few customizations and upgrades, these laptops could be nice options for power users and corporate customers. Read on to learn more about Samsung’s new Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 computers:
2There’s Several HD Display Options
Samsung’s new notebooks come in a variety of screen sizes. The Notebook 3 is available in either a 14-inch or 15-inch version. The 14-inch model features a standard HD resolution, while the 15-inch model will be available to customers in either standard HD or full-HD resolution. Samsung’s Notebook 5 will come only with a 15.6-inch display and full-HD resolution.
3Quad-Core and Dual-Core Intel Chips Power These Laptops
Samsung will offer both seventh-generation and eighth-generation Intel Core processors in its upcoming Notebook 3 and Notebook 5. The company hasn’t, however, revealed the clock speeds on those processors. Buyers will have a choice of the Intel Core i7 quad-core processor or an Intel dual-core processor
4There’s Several Nvidia Graphics Chip Options
Customers will have several graphics processor options for Samsung’s new notebooks. The 14-inch Notebook 3 will be available only with a shared graphics chip with no option for discrete graphics. The larger Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 can be configured with shared graphics, but the former can also be upgraded with an Nvidia MX110 chip. The Notebook 5 can be upgraded with the Nvidia MX150 graphics chip. Both Nvidia options come with 2GB of memory.

In a statement announcing the Notebook 3 and Notebook 5, Samsung said that its machines are designed for the road warrior seeking easy portability. All three of the company’s new notebooks are less than one inch thick. The smaller Notebook 3 weighs only 3.7 pounds. Samsung’s Notebook 5 will tip the scales at 4.3 pounds.

Samsung’s new notebooks will run on Windows 10. But the company has yet to say whether the computers will come configured with Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Professional. Considering Samsung most recent notebook model released shipped with Windows 10 Home, users should expect that edition the base configuration with the likely option of upgrading to Windows 10 Professional.
9Samsung Has Stated Specific Storage, RAM Capacities
Samsung’s computers will ship with combined hard disk drive storage and solid-state drives, allowing for ample capacity and fast performance. However, Samsung hasn’t yet revealed how much storage customers can expect from its new notebooks. The same is true for the computers’ memory. Samsung has only said that it will deliver DDR4 memory in the machines.

Samsung has announced that its Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 will hit store shelves in Korea in April. The company plans to make the notebooks available in other markets around the world in the second quarter. However, Samsung hasn’t announced pricing for these notebooks.
